Hunting & Fishing
Another great reason to visit the Maryville area is for the hunting and fishing. Mozingo Lake, Nodaway County Community Lake, Bilby Ranch Conservation Area and Tarkio Prairie Conservation Area are all within a short drive from Maryville. The sportsperson will find deer, pheasant, quail and turkey abundant in Northwest Missouri. The fish are as abundant as the wild game in Northwest Missouri. The Mozingo Lake, Nodaway Lake, Bilby Ranch Conservation Area, the 102, Platte and Nodaway Rivers are well stocked with bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, walleye, and other game fish.
Mozingo Lake hosts several adult and child tournaments each year. Nodaway Lake is home to the KNIM Big Fish competition, the largest free fishing tournament in Missouri. Hunting and fishing licenses and area map guides are available at many locations in Maryville, Including:
