SUMMARY:43rd annual Yuletide Feaste
DESCRIPTION:Northwest Missouri State University’s Madraliers will host their 43rd annual Yuletide Feaste with an elegant royal banquet with performances by Recorder Consort and the Royale Brass Quintet. \n\nThe Feaste will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday\,\nDec. 9\, and Saturday\, Dec. 10\, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom. \n\nTickets are $29.75 and may be purchased by\ncheck or cash in Room 101 of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. Credit card\norders may be placed online at www.nwmissouri.edu/finearts/music/yuletide.htm. \n\nAttendance\nis limited to 320 guests each evening\, and all tickets are reserved. No tickets\nwill be sold at the door. \n\n\n “We transform the Union Ballroom into a medieval banquet hall with amazing sets\, singers\, instrumentalists\, royalty and theatrical comedy\,” Brian Lanier\, professor of music and conductor of the Madraliers\, said. “In fact\, people regularly tell me that the Yuletide Feaste at Northwest marks their family’s official beginning of the holiday season. Our guests will be well-fed\, thoroughly entertained and will depart with a true sense of the holiday season.” \n\nAt the Yuletide Feaste\, guests celebrate and re-discover Christmas through the evening’s programs and festivities\, highly stylized after old England. Their menu\, performances and decorations are reminiscent of 16th century Tudor England. \n\nThe menu includes harvest salad with apples\, cranberries\, candied pecans and smoked gouda\, carved roasted beef steamship\, cranberry glazed pork loin\, sautéed Brussels sprouts with bacon and dried cherries\, potato gratin with gruyere and cream fraiche\, confetti corn and ginger pumpkin pudding cake with whipped cream. \n\n“The menu is created by the executive chef for the campus\, Brad Jackson\,” Lanier said. “His imagination and incredible skill for selecting the perfect meal for the Yuletide Feaste always guarantee a fantastic evening of wonderful food.” \n\nThe Madraliers choral ensemble is a select\ngroup\, consisting of 35 undergraduate students representing a variety of\ndisciplines and majors at Northwest. In recent years\, the choir has been\ninvited to perform for prestigious choral organizations\, including the American\nChoral Directors Association and the Missouri Music Educators Association. \n\nFor\nmore information\, contact the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at\n660.562.1326.
