DESCRIPTION:Northwest\nMissouri State University\, in conjunction with the Maryville Chamber of\nCommerce\, invites students and employees\, as well as the public\, to a series of\nlearning opportunities featuring presenters discussing workplace topics from\nengaging in difficult conversations and generational differences.\n\nSix\npresentations are scheduled this fall for area professionals. Each presentation\ncosts $25 for Maryville Chamber of Commerce members or $40 for non-members.\nRegistration is available online at http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/trainingopps.htm.\n\n\nThe presentations are free to Northwest students and employees as part of the University’s Career Pathing program\, which provides professional development opportunities to students interested in advancing to new levels of pay and responsibility. \n\nAll\npresentations are 60 or 90 minutes long and take place in the J.W. Jones\nStudent Union. More information about each session appears below. \n\n“Engaging in Difficult Conversations” \n\nKristen Peltz\, assistant director of Wellness Services at Northwest\n\nWednesday\,\nSept. 21: 11 a.m.\, 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. (60 minutes)\n\nRegardless of who the other person is – a friend\, family\, colleague or romantic partner – it creates uncomfortable emotion when someone is tough to talk about. \n\nLearn\nto identify barriers individuals face when thinking about topics that are hard\nto discuss.
