DESCRIPTION:Northwest Missouri State University\, in conjunction with\nthe Maryville Chamber of Commerce\, invites students and employees\, as well as\nthe public\, to a series of learning opportunities featuring presenters\ndiscussing workplace topics from engaging in difficult conversations and\ngenerational differences.\n\n \n\nSix presentations are scheduled this fall for area\nprofessionals. Each presentation costs $25 for Maryville Chamber of Commerce\nmembers or $40 for non-members. Registration is available online at http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/trainingopps.htm.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe presentations are free to Northwest students and employees as part of the University’s Career Pathing program\, which provides professional development opportunities to students interested in advancing to new levels of pay and responsibility. \n\n\n\nAll presentations are 60 or 90 minutes long and take\nplace in the J.W. Jones Student Union. More information about each session\nappears below. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“It’s Not What You Say\, It’s HOW You Say It®”\n\nBarbara Teicher\, certified speaking professional\, Etc Executive Training and\nCoaching\n\nTuesday\, Oct. 4: 10\na.m.\, 12:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. (60 minutes)\n\nThe way an individual says something is more important and has greater impact than words actually used. The intention behind the words people try to convey is different than the message being perceived. They are not often in sync at all.
