SUMMARY:Theatre Northwest - Rumors
DESCRIPTION:Theatre Northwest s season theme of Identity enters through the back \ndoor (and the side door\, and the front door\, and the basement) into a \nhilarious farce by Neil Simon\, leaving the audience unsure just who is \ntelling the truth\, and in some cases\, literally who is who! \n\n\n\nAs the story begins\, the Deputy Mayor has shot himself. Though his \ninjuries are nowhere near fatal\, his lawyer struggles to keep the \nstory straight as the other couples arrive to the dinner party and \ntheir host lies bleeding in the other room. Complications arise as \nguests enter with their own ridiculous personal issues\, and worst of \nall\, the police show up. Will they pull it off? Hijinks\, mistaken \nidentities\, shenanigans\, and yes\, rumors ensue! \n\n\n\nNew York Post's Clive Barnes\, who opened his review with "Broadway has \nsomething to cheer about again!" went on to praise Simon's farce for \nbeing "light\, frothy and fun. It is as significant as a cream puff and \njust about as nourishing. But beautifully baked and cunningly filled."\n\n\n\n Rumors will be held in the Studio Theater in the Ron Houston Center \nfor the Performing Arts Nov. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m.\, and Nov. 12 at 2:00 p.m.\n Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased ahead of time at the \nCashiering Office\, by phone at 660-562-1321\, or at the box office up to \none hour before showtime. \n\nContains adult language.
