Come visit the Nodaway County Museum to see the opening of the exhibit Voices in Stitches, created by Northwest Missouri State University senior Kasey Solomon.
Voices in Stitches offers a closer look at the varied uses of quilts in the history of the country, with a focus on quilts in Nodaway County, Missouri. The exhibit examines the different ways women used quilting to build relationships, strengthen the community, express creativity and culture, and voice political convictions. Come in on opening day and appreciate the rich, local history these quilts have to offer.
The Nodaway County Historical Society is located at 110 N Walnut Street, Maryville, Missouri.
The museum will open at 2:00 April 23 for viewing of exhibits, and the program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 2:30. Refreshments will be served. Donations are always welcome to help the historical society in its exhibits and operations, as it runs on donations without any tax support.
