Grinch voting is an annual Maryville Christmas tradition. Area nonprofits may nominate an individual for The Grinch, who has the distinction of leading the Downtown Christmas Parade. From all nominations, the Chamber selects finalists for community voting. Votes are one cent each and may be cast at Walmart. The finalist amassing the most votes, or money, is named The Grinch of Maryville. The nonprofit represented by The Grinch receives all the money raised through the voting process. The Grinch serves as Grand Marshal of the Maryville Yuletide Magic Christmas Parade on the first Friday evening in December.
