NCHS Museum Program

Learn about the history of Emancipation Day celebrations in Nodaway County with historian Elyssa Ford, Ph.D. These events were held by African Americans in the community from the post-Civil War period into the early 20th century. The program will take place on the historic date of Emancipation Day - August 4th.
