    Northwest Missouri State University, in partnership with the Maryville Chamber of Commerce, is offering a series of presentations featuring professional development topics for students, University employees, and area residents during its Career Pathing program.

    “We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our partnership with the Maryville Chamber of Commerce by offering these engaging professional development opportunities to those in the community,” Northwest Coordinator of Student Employment Paula McLain said. “It is a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to learn alongside other professionals in the community. This fall we have an exciting roster of presenters that will provide engaging presentations on topics relevant to all.”

    Each presentation costs $25 for Maryville Chamber of Commerce members or $40 for non-members. Registration is available online at http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/trainingopps.htm.

    The presentations are free to Northwest students and employees as part of the University’s Career Pathing program, which provides professional development opportunities to students interested in advancing to new levels of pay and responsibility.     Triggers: Are You Reacting or Responding? Identifying Your Ultimate Key to Success

    A person’s ability to respond, rather than react to the triggers around them, ultimately determines their success in life. In this interactive session, participants will gain insights to how people react and why, identifying what pushes people’s “hot buttons” and why, and learn tools and skills to deal with triggers and emotions.
