Career Pathing Seminar - Up Your Game

Northwest Missouri State University, in conjunction with the Maryville Chamber of Commerce, invites students and employees, as well as the public, to a series of learning opportunities featuring presenters discussing workplace topics from engaging in difficult conversations and generational differences.

Six presentations are scheduled this fall for area professionals. Each presentation costs $25 for Maryville Chamber of Commerce members or $40 for non-members. Registration is available online at http://www.nwmissouri.edu/hr/trainingopps.htm.

The presentations are free to Northwest students and employees as part of the University’s Career Pathing program, which provides professional development opportunities to students interested in advancing to new levels of pay and responsibility.

All presentations are 60 or 90 minutes long and take place in the J.W. Jones Student Union. More information about each session appears below.

“Up Your Game”
Devin Henderson, CSP, Henderson Entertainment, LLC

Wednesday, Nov. 2: 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. (60 minutes)

The world is a stage and everyone is a performer. The strategies that have made Devin Henderson an award-winning entertainer translate to the stage of life. His tips will help optimize performance on a daily basis, whether it be at home, in the office or anywhere in between.

Devin is a clean comedian and he tricks out his stand-up with surprising and unusual talents. Along with events nationwide, Devin performs weekly at the Kansas City Improv Comedy Club, and he’s an international sensation. A family studies degree from Kansas State University and a sense of humor both explain Devin’s nine years of martial survival despite four children. Comedy writes itself for a man living with a family of six. From texting typos to backseat slap fights to a home water birth, the material never runs dry.

Devin is the author of a small book called “Share Your Magic,” a pickpocket’s take on applying The Golden Rule. He is a CSP, the speaking industry’s international measure of expertise. Devin’s passion as a performer is using his talents and knowledge to inspire others to “perform” at their best in all they do.
