Celebration Annual Spring Show
Northwest Missouri State University’s Celebration show choir will present its annual spring show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
The spring show – titled “Sing … Sing … Dance” – will feature a broad variety of music, including songs from Broadway shows “Beauty and the Beast,” “Rent,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Cabaret,” and “A Class Act” as well as the animated movie “Cars.” The audience also will hear songs made famous by Bruno Mars, Dolly Parton, Peggy Lee and a swinging version of the legendary Louis Prima chart “Sing, Sing, Sing.”
Admission is free, and the show is open to the public.
Celebration is a group of 32 multi-talented performers who sing and dance and are accompanied by a 10-piece band. In addition to full company numbers, performers will be featured in solos and ensembles, spanning a variety of songs.
Celebration represents a variety of majors across the University, and the choir has performed throughout the United States, including recent appearances at Walt Disney World in Florida. During the fall trimester, the choir is known as The Madraliers, a chamber choir that presents concerts on and off campus, including the annual Yuletide Feaste. Dr. Brian Lanier, professor of music, directs the choir.Celebration Annual Spring ShowDate and Time
