Historical View of Nodaway County Towns
Sunday, September 18 at 2:00 p.m. the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum will present a program by Tom Carneal and Cathy Palmer which will show unique and interesting features from each town (other than Maryville) in the county. While everyone has their own ideas of what some unique structures are in their area, this program will be Tom Carneal’s view from his many decades as a local historian for Nodaway County, and many interesting photos will be shown as a slide presentation. Included will be aerial views of each town in 1950, and these show where the railroad tracks were located, which were so important in earlier years. The museum is located at 110 N. Walnut St. in Maryville MO.
The program is free, though donations are welcome. Refreshments will be served, and the museum exhibits may be viewed following the program. Call the museum at 660-582-8176 with any questions. Regular hours are 1:00 to 4:00 Tuesdays through Fridays and other days by appointment.
