International Radio Day Celebration
International Radio Day - The Northwest celebration will feature a program on the history of audio recording by Alex Kirt, an assistant professor of Communication and Mass Media. There will be a demonstration on how to make a record using original equipment from the 1940s. Northwest jazz musicians will give a short performance, and you will be able to see their performance “cut” on a record. You can also tour Northwest's own Warren Stucki Museum of Broadcasting where you can try your hand at Morse code and test out your newscaster skills in a studio from the 1990s. Special tours of the KXCV/KRNW studios also will be offered. Refreshments will be provided. Event sponsored by the Northwest Campus Museums, the School of Communication and Mass Media, B.D. Owens Library, and the College of Arts and Humanities.
