MERIL is hosting a Halloween Bash! resource fair and trunk-or-treat event at our St. Joseph office (4420 S. 40th St.) on Thursday, October 20 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Both adults and children are welcome and are encouraged to wear costumes. We will have free snacks, candy, games, and crafts. There will be several other public service organizations in attendance to hand out treats and information about services in our community. Participating organizations include: AFL-CIO Community Services, Andrew County Health Department, Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Charities, Community Action Partnership of Greater St. Joseph, Diversity Placement Services, Family Guidance Center, Midland Empire Ghostbusters, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services – Children & Youth with Special Health Care Needs, Missouri Department of Social Services – Family Support Division, Missouri Western State University – Organization of Student Social Workers, Mo-Kan Regional Council, Myasthenia Gravis Association, Northwest Health Services, People First of Missouri – St. Joseph Chapter, Progressive Community Services, Social Welfare Board, St. Joseph Down Syndrome Support Group, St. Joseph Fire Department, St. Joseph Job Center Services (Missouri Job Centers), St. Joseph Public Library, St. Joseph Transit – Go St. Joe, Wallace State Park (Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks), and YWCA.
